For The Love of Bees

they give life to flowers and fruit

they’re nature’s trustees

those busy busy bees

honey bees

and worker bees

looking for pollen to seize

giving some people the willies

and others are at ease

with the love of bees

busy bumble bees

pollinating fruit and flowers

busy busy bees

buzzing in the breeze

and in their nest among the trees

Living In A Redwood Tree

there was a young woman named Bethany

who lived in a Redwood tree

her little hut was something to see

perched like a toy inside the canopy

society had caused her to flee

to the giant tree in order to be free

a friend brought supplies to the tree

and never questioned her idiosyncrasy

and she lived there like a refugee

but happy as happy can be

for she was a nature devotee

who did her best to avoid reality

Silent Giants

The California Coast is the host for redwood trees

silent giants that have stood for centuries

massive groves form God’s church

the lofty limbs an eagle’s perch

they stretch hundreds of feet into the sky

and when the wind blows you hear them sigh

these ancient guardians of times gone by

wait silently

and majestically

earth’s tallest tree

nature’s dynasty

waiting for discovery

The Tree of Life

roots from the human tree

go back before

written history

root desires

built empires

root foundations

built nations

roots of war

lasting forevermore

the human tree

rooted in reality

and what we know

continues to grow

as new branches

emerge and get strong

and people learn to get along

on the tree of life

The Druid

He swiftly ran through the dense forest ahead of his Roman enemies. As a Druid priest he knew this grove well, avoiding the pitfalls and traps his people set for the oppressors.

Amergin was the last of the Druid priests. The rest were massacred. He refused to let that stop him from rallying his people against the Roman’s and their gods.

As his pursuers drew near he pressed his body against a tree and prayed for invisibility. They ran by him without a glance. At that moment Amergin knew that he would be able to keep the old religion alive.
